For me it's horse riding. Haven't actually ridden in years but I used to love it and always thought I'd go back to it.

Now too old and scared of falling and it makes me really sad Sad

Anyone else?

Be kissed or hugged

flushthetoiletagain · 18/02/2022 16:37

Have another baby.

Scarby9 · 18/02/2022 16:38

Share a joke with my mum or have a real conversation (dementia).
Have my parents come to stay with me.

BadgerB · 18/02/2022 16:39

@midsomermurderess

Run. My knees are stuffed.
Oh, me too! Even a fast, upright walk would be something....

It's made me really emotional reading some of the comments about babies. When I was in the middle of it (pregnant/fearing labour/trying anything to make a newborn sleep), I just wished the days away. You can't grasp that one day will be the last time, and you won't even know it's happened.
So for me, apart from having another baby (age and practical reasons), I would love to have my baby in my arms again whilst he slept/breastfed. He is a very independent toddler now, and sleeps really well (at the minute!). I used to weep in frustration as I sat up all night, rocking him whilst barely able to hold my head up. I wish I'd just enjoyed it, with the benefit of hindsight to know it was normal - and temporary!

There's loads of stuff on this thread I will never do again (including ride a horse - I broke my spine in a riding accident at 24 snd I tried to ride again but my nerve has gone, I can't do it)

But the thing that gets me is my 10 year old daughter recently said there's no need to put me to bed anymore mum, you can just say goodnight.

I feel so sad about it

BadgerB · 18/02/2022 16:47

And another thing... go for a long walk sitting on my (6ft 7") dad's shoulders. An amazing view of the world!

positivevibesonly22 · 18/02/2022 16:47

@weebarra I hear you re laughing with your sister. Fucking cancer

mrssunshinexxx · 18/02/2022 16:48

See, touch, hug, have a mum

Firesidefox · 18/02/2022 16:49

Talk to my MIL

RowanAlong · 18/02/2022 16:51

Breastfeeding. Loved it.

Lovemusic33 · 18/02/2022 16:53

The queen still rides horses so unless your 100 years old I would say ‘go ride a horse’ 🙂

I won’t have anymore children, can’t physically have anymore, although I didn’t really want any more I would have liked to have had the option for a little longer.

Armadeus · 18/02/2022 16:55

Snowboard
Speak german reasonably well
Run and go on my spin bike (ongoing health issues)
Youthful optimistic anticipation of the future
The crowd of friends and acquaintances I had when DS1 was young....

Glitterygreen · 18/02/2022 16:58

Being a teen and just hanging around with friends, having a laugh, with our whole lives ahead of us.

We're still friends but life is so different now. It's not the same as when we were all each other had, and I do miss it.

Woahthehorsey · 18/02/2022 17:00

That first kids with someone you really fancy, all the excitement and anticipation.

Gwenhwyfar · 18/02/2022 17:01

@MelaniaFlump

Have a baby.

Do creative things in a medium-crap way. A thing I never really appreciated as a schoolchild/student is how many opportunities there are to sing, act, play an instrument. Etc etc without actually being all that good. Once you’re out in the world, people expect actual talent! No one wants to hear grade 4 piano from a 40yo Wink

I know a 50 year old who is learning the flute. I reckon you do your Grade 4 piano and then say 'I only started learning last month' rather than 'I did it for ten years and never got any further' which is the case for me.
Gwenhwyfar · 18/02/2022 17:05

@Spitspatspot

Not ‘again’ - but ever. I’m sad I’ll never have the experience of finding a life partner and being someone’s wife. I know that’s not a very popular viewpoint on MN but I can’t help my romantic side…
Same.
NormaJoan · 18/02/2022 17:10

I loved the feeling of being my young children's whole world , making it up as we went along. It was a special time, never to be repeated.

ElliotGoss · 18/02/2022 17:17

Going on "Twat Laps" in my little Clio with my sister listening to 90s dance music and buying all the snacks from Tesco. God how we laughed. I haven't laughed like that for years.

Scianel · 18/02/2022 17:19

Smoke, as bad as that sounds. Get drunk and smoke.

frostyfingers · 18/02/2022 17:21

Have a proper, carefree evening full of laughter with my best friends and only have to worry about getting up for work the next day. So many responsibilities now that I seem to have lost the ability to properly let my hair down.

To have my mum back, and for my dad to have met my DH and children and known me as an adult.

Feilin · 18/02/2022 17:22

Walking down the lonen with the dogs.
Spending precious time with my Dad.
The thick sleepy fog that is the baby days.

emsmar · 18/02/2022 17:22

Go through my early 20's slut stage

theleafandnotthetree · 18/02/2022 17:24

@Greenybluetowel

Dance in a nightclub, I think about it a lot as it I know I'm just too old and I really miss it.
What age are you? I'm nearly 50 and am doing so this weekend. And yes, a proper thump, thump, thump young peoples nightclub. I and my friends will be anongst the oldest women certainly but we will dance our legs off and frankly have a way better time than most of the leggy lovelies there who are sadly often too self conscious to do so..
whywouldntyou · 18/02/2022 17:27

Make men's heads turn.

I am now a fat wrinkly over 60 year old and all the youngsters I work with (under 30s) see nothing else. I really want them to realise that when I was in my 20s I looked as good as (if not better in some cases) than they do.

I haven't always looked like this FFS!!!!
