Daft question but how do I make the perfect microwaved then baked potato?

I'm home alone tonight so just making one baked potato. When there's 3 or 4 of us here I don't mind doing them all in the oven for the whole cooking time, but as it's just me it seems wasteful.

So I'm going to microwave then finish in the oven. What timings do I need? It's a big one!

I follow Waitrose instructions (ignore the filling): www.waitrose.com/content/waitrose/en/home/recipes/recipe_directory/s/speedy_jacket_potatoes_with_crispy_bacon_and_salmon.html

I'd do 7 mins in microwave and 30 in hot oven I think

Microwave until cooked (just keep going until they’re done… 6+ minutes for a bid one).

Stick in the oven until the skin is dark and as crispy as possible.

Sometimes I coat in oil and salt as well before they go in the oven, but this can be messy because I put them directly onto the oven shelf….

5 mins in microwave for one potato (10 mins for 2 potatoes)
Rub olive oil and salt and pepper into the skin.
Hot oven for 20-30 mins.

Produces perfect crispy skin and delicious results every time without fail.
