Does anyone know what would be the closest thing to Betnovate that’s non prescription? Is there anything similar that can be bought over the counter?

I’d like to know this too. I have Betacap on prescription which is a great relief, but I’ve tried non prescription ones like Eucerin but it’s rubbish.

I don't, but if it helps, I do buy Betnovate online via the Independent Pharmacy

Betnovate is a potent topical steroid. You can buy Eumovate under certain conditions, also a steroid but moderately potent.

It costs £21 on there- can’t you get it prescribed? It’s cheaper…!

You can buy Ec45 over the counter which is E45 cream with a small amount of hydrocortisone in it. Something like 0.01% I think

BlanketsBanned · 17/02/2022 12:27

What are you using it for, would hydrocortisone help

Pharmacist here - as pp said Eumovate is the closest you can buy over the counter but pharmacies can only sell for 7 days use and it costs about £6. It's not as strong as betnovate cream (which is one of the strongest steroids), but better than hydrocortisone
