School life coach

My child’s secondary school has just advertised a position for a full time life coach to work with the students and their families.
Is this pretty standard as I’ve never heard of a school employing a life coach before.

We're just giving this thread a bump in case anyone's around to answer the OP's query.

I’ve never heard of it. I wonder if it’s a family support worker but under a different name.

Or a career advisor?
