I’m wide awake for some strange reason. Just made tea and toast and fed the cat. Bit windy outside but nothing to worry about. Struggling with the crossword.

I can’t sleep when it is windy. We don’t live near any trees so I don’t have much to worry about bar the fence panels, but I still can’t settle.

Me! I actually enjoy the sounds of the wind but it is disturbing me.

I'm struggling to sleep because I discovered my attic door open this evening....and it's a push up one with thick insulation on it and then the wind started making some very strange noises and the bedroom keeps going much blacker than usual periodically.

For the first time since I was a child, I'm scared of the dark.

I've got the wind blasting off the Durham Dales here, and it sounds like a grumpy dragon stomping about and snorting fire for good measure.

@TyrantosaurusRex - why don't you put the stair/landing light on and just push your bedroom door to, but not shut it. That way you should just get a glow of light to comfort you......I do this when I'm not feeling too good. It really helps.

Yep I can’t sleep as I can hear the fences and wind blowing. I also can’t sleep as I’ve got a dentist appointment and think I need Atleast 2 fillings done 😪

@JasperJohnsPaintbrush that would be a good solution but I'm a bit scared to move and also, I have a cat that will push the door open. I've got a small light on in the room now.

Yes, there's a draught through the house that feels and sounds like someone has left a few windows open.

I woke up because of my cat, who was being a dick, and now can’t get back to sleep because of the wind. Sounds like it’s dying down a bit now, thankfully. Friday is meant to be worst isn’t it? Scary.

I'm awake mainly because I was too hot with my full winter duvet on now it's a bit milder so have taken the 4.5 tog add-on off...

Plus when it's windy, the house starts creaking... in particular my bedroom door. So I might have to put it slightly ajar - which I hate - but at least it stops the creaky door which is horrible!

TyrantosaurusRex it's probably the weather that caused it...if you look at the link stuff like temperature changes and even the wind can cause it to open

Yes, the wind is very rough outside, I've already had 2 cups of tea and there's nothing of interest to distract me on TV.
My flat is in a corner of a building so I'm partially protected from the wind but there are tall trees around us and I'm more worried about something falling on my car parked outside......

Been out to the pub this evening (I drove) so didn't get to bed till 11pm now wind is keeping me wide awake.

The wind isn't bothering me but I'm pet-sitting this week and it's bothering the dogs as they kept waking up in the middle of the night and barking at it
