Sounds odd but dd2 can turn her tickles off as she puts it, you'd be tickling her, she'd be laughing then stop laughing, look at you and say that she'd turned her tickles off with a grin, my df can do this as well.

I cannot, I am extremely ticklish, find it almost painful and if anyone starts tickling me and won't stop I will fight back by any means.

Yep. My dad always used to do it and then I realised I can too.

FoggySpecs · 16/02/2022 22:30

Yes I can do this, not sure how but I just can.

TimePoliceTeam236 · 16/02/2022 22:34

Yes I know exactly what she means, I can do it too.

RedBonnet · 16/02/2022 22:43

Yep I can, not that I'm very ticklish anyway. It's a bit like trying to tickle yourself

Minfilia · 16/02/2022 22:44

Yes I can do it too.

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 16/02/2022 22:50

Yes and that’s how I used to describe it too

boringcreation · 16/02/2022 22:51

Yes you just have to believe you're not ticklish

TakeMeToKernow · 16/02/2022 22:54

Yep. I tell the kids that my own dad “used up” all my tickles. Just breathe out and purposefully relax.

Atourwitsend · 16/02/2022 22:54

Sounds like there's quite a few people can, it just seems really strange to someone who is extremely ticklish and will collapse to the floor if tickled, I have literally hit and kicked out in the past when tickled and the person wouldn't stop when I shouted at them.

Dh knows not to tickle me apart from occasional on the back or head( he normally gets a quick shove and"get off". He knows I find tickling very unpleasant and wouldn't dream of doing any thing more.

It's like I go into panic flight or fight mode

I can do it - but not on the soles of my feet. If someone tickles the soles of my feet I freak the fuck out.

flowerfake · 17/02/2022 11:01

I can. For the same reason you can trickle yourself. You're too relaxed when in control. So if you relax when others do it, no reaction.

flowerfake · 17/02/2022 11:01

Same reason you can't tickle yourself.

Blueberryflavour · 17/02/2022 11:05

I’m not ticklish at all, my kids and now grandkids find it strange when they try and tickle me. It just feels annoying to me.

BearSoFair · 17/02/2022 11:07

I can't. I sound similar to you OP, tickling is a flight or fight thing. It does make me laugh but it's like a stress laugh, there's no enjoyment or humour behind it!

Maflingo · 17/02/2022 11:07

My DD can, and she finds it hilarious that I can’t and am incredibly ticklish

ABitOfAShitShow · 17/02/2022 11:08

Wow. How can you all do this?! I definitely can't - and I can't control my reaction. I try to very seriously tell boyfriends upfront that they shouldn't tickle me because I find it intolerable and I absolutely will lash out at them (reflexively) if they do it. Very few listen.

Gowithme · 17/02/2022 11:08

No, I had no idea that it was a thing.
