Bless her, my poor Dc hurt her ankle at school today during PE

It’s been iced and elevated since we got home but it’s still swelling up - no bruising, swelling is on the top of her foot if that makes sense?

I’ve given her calpol and ibuprofen (not together 2 hours apart) and she’s saying it still really hurts

I’ve just put another bag of ice on it

Shall I wait it out and see if it’s still bad in the morning or shall I pop her up to MIU?? I’m not normally this dithering but it’s the fact she’s really in quite a bit of pain

Having been in that situation (albeit stumbling in heels caused mine!)I would say pop her to MIU. I left mine for a few days and could barely walk by the time I got there. I was told in no uncertain terms by both the nurse and the radiographer that I should have come in earlier. Thankfully I only needed secure padding and strapping, but they said I could have had a worse fracture than the very minor one that I had.

I think I might just do that but I’m not sure if they have the x ray department open after 5, I’m going to google it and check

I might try some ibuprofen gel but I’m not sure I can as I have given her some already

Fingers crossed that all will be well.
