SE England weekend break suggestions with DD (7)

Hi all. I'm taking DD1 (7 years old) away in June for a special mother/daughter weekend. I don't drive so looking for a town within 2 hours of London by train, it would need to be compact and easy to walk around, with some outdoor options but also indoor (in case of bad weather). We will stay in a B&B. Seaside would be an advantage! So maybe one of the south coast towns but I don't know them well. Would be grateful for any recommendations.

The beach huts at Whitstable.

How fab. I did this with my eldest when he was about the same age, we went to Clacton. Kiss me quick style British seaside with lots to do but maybe not for the culturally minded. 🤣 We had a great time and there are loads of cheap B&Bs.

Took my youngest to Rye a couple of weeks ago which was also wonderful albeit totally different! Cobbly streets, lots of lovely cafes for hot chocolates, nice walks, nature reserve, castle. Would recommend.

Rye also has a small museum open in the summer months and a cool little independent cinema.

Bournemouth has a sea life centre and a climbing place on the pier, amusements, crazy golf, lovely beaches. Any good?

Deal would be lovely too.

Broadstairs.

Thank you! Favouring Broadstairs currently but they all look fab so will have to do some more weekends in future.
