Can anyone remember this magazine?

I think it was early 2000s, more edgy than mizz and other magazines of the time. I remember thinking it was like FHM for women. I think the title was one word. Help!

Nova?

sarahtalkstoomuch · 15/02/2022 23:23

I bet it was Minx.

It had proper lengthy, interesting articles like the mens glossy magazines did, and it was monthly.

More was fortnightly, fewer long reads and a bit frothier

mytwocats · 15/02/2022 23:24

Google it & if comes up

TyrannosaurusRegina · 15/02/2022 23:26

More. Sex tip of the week/month/however frequently it was published.

HesMyLobster · 15/02/2022 23:30

Definitely sounds like More!
Position of the fortnight etc - way more sex based than any of the other teen magazines at the time!

Zoflorabore · 15/02/2022 23:35

Oh I loved all of these mags and after reading this thread I really miss them!

I’m 44 so for me it started with Smash Hits and then Mizz/Just Seventeen before moving on to the others. I looked forward to them so much and am still convinced that every single agony aunt style question was made up Blush

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 16/02/2022 00:18

When I read the thread title I hoped it would be la-la-la-la-la look in

Then I saw 2000s and sighed a little

HeechulOppa · 16/02/2022 01:22

@SisterRuth Grin

Thoosa · 16/02/2022 01:28

Depends how you mean by edgy.

There was More,m in the 90s, which, as PPs said, was full of sex tips.

In the glossy market, there was Mirabelle (or Mirabella? Something like that - named after the editor, I think). That made a big splash, but crashed and burned.

Both 90s but they’re the two that spring to mind.

Thoosa · 16/02/2022 01:30

This is Mirabella: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirabella

StarryNightSparkles · 16/02/2022 02:30

I had totally forgot about all these magazines. I used to love buying them. Are they still around?

Ihaveamagicwand · 16/02/2022 02:47

She
Eve
Loved both of those but maybe the 90s

Welshponyslave · 16/02/2022 06:10

Minx?
I loved that magazine and was gutted when it stopped publication

Changeymcgee · 16/02/2022 07:02

Minx or there was another one for a while that was quite good called Jump

Mumdiva99 · 16/02/2022 07:09

'For Women'. It was late 90's and I remember not wanting to show my mum. I think there were quite racy pics in it.

HelloDulling · 16/02/2022 07:24

Minx. They pitched it as a magazine for women who didn’t buy magazines. A journo friend started her career there, I remember Polly Vernon was one of the writers.

It didn’t sell well enough, so it folded.

DieschoensteZeitdesJahres · 16/02/2022 07:30

I loved Minx! I still have the initial "m" keychain they gave away but sadly, I threw out the magazines themselves in an over zealous tidy up a few years ago.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 16/02/2022 07:41

It might be listed here...

(there are some great titles - I wonder who buys 'The Cheese Grater' !

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 16/02/2022 07:41

I used to read Sky magazine as a teenager but that wasn't specifically for women. It was quite edgy though!

britneyisfree · 16/02/2022 07:43

More magazine. Once they had a spread of willys and I (at 13!) cut them all out along with the positions and stuck them in a notebook.

If only I'd used my time better Blush

The mind boggles as to how you use(d) the notebook in future life!!
