Climbing frame?

Flavabobble · 14/02/2022 21:01

Ready made support for a gazebo!

Jobseeker19 · 14/02/2022 21:01

No lol. Clearly a electrical grid thing

CovidCorvid · 14/02/2022 21:02

You could practice chin ups on it I guess? Attach a swing? Trx bands?

Pyri · 14/02/2022 21:02

There was a very recent thread with this very topic

You couldn’t actually pay me money to live in a house with a pylon in the garden

sparklystar333 · 14/02/2022 21:02

Useful for hanging your washing on!

corlan · 14/02/2022 21:03

You won't need a washing line.Smile

MahMahMahMahCorona · 14/02/2022 21:03

Went to view a house with a pylon years ago - it fizzed slightly when it rained, according to the owner...

Discontentedpony · 14/02/2022 21:04

Seems like a very optimistic price considering.

Rewritethestars1 · 14/02/2022 21:05

They do make fizzing sounds. Could hang a few pots to make it more appealing maybe

LemonViolet · 14/02/2022 21:05

Wow and it’s still £350K?!?

SeaMeat · 14/02/2022 21:07

No mention of it in the description.

I was wondering if they get a fee for having it there.

Fuckitydoodah · 14/02/2022 21:07

Jesus Christ, that's insane. £350k too!!! I'd feel like my brain was being fried. Isn't there a theory about them causing cancers? They're quite noisy too, aren't they? You couldn't pay me to live in that house.

dudsville · 14/02/2022 21:07

What?! I didn't know this was even a legal thing to do, I'm shocked (not a pun).

They make a horrible buzzing noise. I'm terrified of the bloody things!

IsThePopeCatholic · 14/02/2022 21:10

I wonder which came first - the pylon or the house? I’d be terrified of that thing near my house.

Forshorttheycallmecomp · 14/02/2022 21:12

Don’t forget, if the humming of the pylon gets too much, there’s a motorway at the bottom of the back garden.

Forestdweller11 · 14/02/2022 21:12

They should get 'rent' from the electricity board, this might be paid annually, or it might have been a lump sum. They do fizz when it's drizzling. We had one about 60mtrs away. When they eventually got round to taking it down (cables had been buried) the footprint was tiny, just sort of 6"x6" concrete squares. It only took about 1/2 day. After about 10 days you couldn't see where it had been.

Elderflower14 · 14/02/2022 21:13

It's only been sold once before in 2014...!

Twospaniels · 14/02/2022 21:14

I grew up in a house with a pylon at the back but it was 3 gardens distance away. It did fizz in certain weather.
Eventually all the pylons were dismantled and the cables went underground
I would hate to have that right in the front.

I remember that thread, I think I may have been the first one to comment that they make a noise! Very inappropriate to build a house like that.
drpet49 · 14/02/2022 21:15

350k?????? I wouldn’t live there if it was free!

I was wondering this too. Maybe the electricity company paid the owners at the time a whole shitload of money to let them put it there.

I don't think there's any sum of money I'd accept to live with that in my garden though.

GreenTeaPingPong · 14/02/2022 21:17

I'm amazed that it's allowed to be so close to the house.

PieonaBarm · 14/02/2022 21:19

With fuel bills going up someone with entrepreneurial skills could attach a couple of jump leads to it and then the others to the fuse box and hey presto, cheap leccy. I know a sparky. Might book a viewing!
