Done jackets in the slow cooker a few times but not in recent years. I can’t recall any problems before….
Given the slow cooker is (apparently) economical and the oven less so, I thought I’d try again.
Did as before - wrapped tightly in foil after rubbing the skin with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt.
All cooked perfectly but the flesh of the potatoes all went really brown and tasted weirdly sweet - almost like a sweet potato. We had a spare potato so I cut it open raw and it’s fine and white. Nothing random just Tesco usual 4 pack of baking potatoes.
Why did they go brown and nasty?!
