Party invite for new child in class

DS's birthday party is shortly after half term, it's a whole class party (reception year). Apparently a new child came to meet the class this week as they are joining after half term. Would it be weird to ask the teacher to email a copy of the invite to his parents? I've given paper copies and shared an electronic one on class WhatsApp but obviously child's parents does not have access to these and I would feel very bad for the child to be excluded. Or am I being OTT to try to include him?

I work in a school, this is something I'd gladly pass on
