Has anyone else gone off Wordle because of the tactical players trying to always get it in 2 or 3!!!

I know it shouldn’t matter and I’m trying not to engage. I started wordle a month a go after a conversation with a college tutor. I love word games and puzzles etc and working things out. Was having a few good guesses and then lots of friends, colleagues and fb contacts are playing now, but nearly all of them are using words like adieu, unity and arose each time to start so they can solve it as quickly as possible. Which obviously is fine and their right. I like to put a random word in then see if I can get it before the end, love the challenge and am still on a 100% streak.

I keep getting ooh I beat you etc and it’s pissing me off, ruining it and I’m throwing my toys out!!!

They need to do Absurdle. If you put in ‘audio’ you can guarantee none of those letters will be in the final word. It doesn’t have a set answer, it chooses words that don’t contain the letters you use in your first few guesses

I have one of these... A friend who ignored our group chat for ages but has started popping up regularly with the score screenshot, often shortly after the puzzle resets. It doesn't bother me. I prefer to play quietly and quite enjoy the nervous tingle when I'm on the 4th or 5th row.

Seeing the progression with each row gives me more satisfaction that I'm trying to figure out the solution logically than getting it on the second guess, which might be more luck than tactic.

Sharing a score early in the day can make it stressful for the others. Enjoy the game however you want, it's one of the few short simple sureties of life at the moment.
