I need some advice on next steps for me career. I am very hardworking and have managed to get to assistant director level but I have been there for a while now. I just can’t seem to get to the next level even though everyone left right and centre is. It’s becoming embarrassing to be honest and I am trying to find a way to move up. What I have observed is that the ones moving ie director and partners are very extroverted and confident. I am an introvert and I think about things a lot before I react. I am just confused and really needs some advice. Have people managed to learn to mask their introversion.
My boss has invited me to a work dinner with some very senior people and I think this is a big test. I am so nervous already and haven’t accepted it partly because I am wondering if it is a mistake.
Do I just accept that I can’t move up any further?
Please help me!
