What is the job market like from your side?

I am looking for a new job, and it seems like there are loads of jobs being advertised at the minute. My company is also recruiting (for a couple of roles in different departments), and they seem to have had a number of applications, but people dropping out of the process left, right and centre and are finding it hard to get people to interview. Is that normal?

Yes but it's difficult to get people. We are recruiting for skilled and unskilled manual workers. We offer a training programme but it's a dying trade, it seems like more people are going to university than learning a trade on the job.
