Anyone else stay up too late to get me time?

I always end up staying up too late just to get some time to myself. I know I should sleep, but I just want some chill time. Does anyone else do this too?

ADHD - revenge bedtime procrastination

Yep.

Aaaand now my 3 year old has had the last laugh. Turned light off at 1am as usual (but partner getting up with her tomorrow so I didn’t feel too anxious) - alarm set for 9am as I was planning on starting work at 10am and at 2am was suddenly awoken to the hysterical crying of a toddler who had just vomited all over herself, her bed, and her favourite comfort toy. So now after the epic clean up it’s past 2am and I’m wide awake again. FML.

I love the quiet time when everybody else is in bed. My mum was the same (she still is).

Yes it is nice and quiet now even though I stink of vomit. I need that quiet time to myself every night to survive mentally but god yes the mornings are a killer. I’ve tried to train myself to sleep before midnight but it’s hard

Every night. I'm glad it's not just me.

SockQueen · 11/02/2022 04:51

Yes, most nights (I'm on a night shift tonight, I don't normally stay up this late!)

DH doesn't understand it. But he WFH in a very flexible job and can hide away in his study all day having his me time. I'm either at work, or juggling at least one child. So night time is the only time

Waxonwaxoff0 · 11/02/2022 07:22

No, I'm a morning person. Prefer to have my "me" time in the morning.

DS goes to bed at 8pm, I'm usually asleep before 10. I get up between 5 and 6am.
