Does cocodamol lose effectiveness a few months out of date?

I have some left over that I had for awful period pain/ adenomyosis, that are now out of date. I'm going to the dentist today and suspect will need root canal - they are very reluctant to prescribe codeine where I now live (and not available otc, at any strength) but it really helped manage the pain from the first root canal I had a few years ago, for the 36 hours.

Will the expired cocodamol still work?

I've used out of date co-codamol and it has been just as effective, IME.

The exiry date will be well within any stability data the manufacturer has. If you have tablets in undamaged packaging they'll still work. Open liquid medicine is another matter due to the possibility of microbial contamination.

Thank you both!

They are tablets in packaging, with an expiry of November 2021. So actually not even as old as I first thought.

They’ll be fine. I’ve got some which is 2 years out of date and it’s still effective when needed.
