Help me plan for possible covid infection

Husband is CEV and we've shielded as much as you can with a 2yo and 7yo. Earlier this week he was almost admitted to hospital with a non-covid chest infection and very low SATS, but they've stabilised a bit at about 94% and we're monitoring it with the GP. Although I mainly work from home at the moment, I went into work yesterday morning for an hour and spent it with someone who tested positive for Covid on a LFT later that day.

This isn't our first rodeo - DS7 caught covid in December but it was very mild and as DH was newly boosted and in good health, he chose not to isolate and our luck held out. Clearly, covid on top of his unresolved chest infection could be seriously bad news, so he's now isolating in one bedroom. We're ventilating the house well and leaving food outside the door etc.

I may well not get it from my colleague, but if I do, I will have to manage both kids and keep DH fed, regardless. I know a million single parents have done this before me, so I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to prepare that would help us all, in case I do develop symptoms?

TLDR: fucking covid.

I’d get on top of all the laundry, clean the bathrooms and do some shopping and batch cooking. Good luck!

Hi. I hope you don’t get it. If you do, my symptoms were heavy cold like and fatigue. Lemsips were really helpful as had sinus congestion and chesty cough. For the tiredness: stock up on easy meals, soups etc, snacks for kids. How will kids get to school if you are isolating and DH staying away from them? Activities for kids.

Shopping order - book some slots just in case?

Thanks - this is v helpful.

The kids are on half term next week. We’re supposed to be going away but obviously that’s in the balance now. They’d just have to stay at home if it weren’t half term.

Day 3 and no sign of any problems yet. Hoping I've dodged it!
