What books are must reads to your under 10s.
Trying to think of all the books from my childhood and looking for more up to date suggestions.
Some of the things I've already read or thought of.
Narnia
Famous Five
Hobbit
Worst witch
Flat Stanley
Harry Potter

Tom Gates
Series of Unfortunate Events

My dd has loved Pollyanna, Anne of green gables, Heidi, five children and it, The wouldbegoods, Most of Noel streitfeild. She loves anything set long ago!

There are some wonderful modern childrens books out there.Have a look at the website Toppsta which recommends titles and allows children to post their own reviews.I thoroughly recommend anything by MG Leonard or Lisa Thompson,Amy Sparkes,Emma Carroll -the list is endless

Adventures on Trains series.
Mr Penguin books
Atticus Claw (if you can say the cats name with a straight face)
Roman Mysteries (although they are about 20 years old now)

Jacqueline Wilson is a good contemporary children's writer. My DD loved Hetty Feather at around age 8 - it's gripping. (I liked it too!)
