Online shopping, will a dagger get through customs?

I want to get my partner a dagger as a present and was wondering if these are allowed to be brought into the UK? I’m a bit confused as whilst straight out weapons are banned, there seems to be a grey area around decorative items and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this?

These are the kind of daggers I’m looking at:

Thank you!

Why on earth would you get that for someone. It's a weapon.

Please explain why you want to get him a dagger? And no it probably wont get through customs.

You can boy them in the UK, save yourself the risk of being arrested if you must buy one at all 😆

Find a UK seller - you can filter on seller location.

They both look nice Smile Is he a larper/ role player? It may depend on the blade - would it be sharp or blunted? It’s not stated in the description, but the photos look like the blade is blunted so you can’t stab anyone with it.

We had a similar medieval-type sword to cut our wedding cake, and that was tricky as the blade wasn’t sharp at all!

Thanks Ellie & yes you’re spot on, it’s related to larping. My DP is a big medieval nut so I thought it would be a nice gift.

To everyone who is concerned, the blade is unsharpened as it’s a decorative piece as I stated in my OP.

I’ve looked at UK sellers but they’re not as nice / ornate & double the price unfortunately.

Same reason DH got me a samurai sword - cause I wanted one….haven’t stabbed anyone yet 😂

I’m pretty sure there are some decent sellers within the uk @TulaOfDarkWater

This is where we got our wedding sword from:

yorkarmoury.com/

Based in the UK, so no customs issues!

There's a lot in the UK which would be better - here's a few - www.battleorders.co.uk/, todsworkshop.com/pages/historical-swords-daggers-crossbows, heronarmoury.com/, <a class="break-all" href="https://www.armourclass.co.uk/,www.derbyshirearms.com/swords" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.armourclass.co.uk/,www.derbyshirearms.com/swords, - Or you could go to a Living History Fair, there are a few about

Cheers for the links, I’ll definitely check them out. Thinking a UK seller is probably the way to go on this.
