Passport question that I can't find on Google ......

I'm going to apply for passports for the dc - first time for them, never had one before.

I was wondering if I can start the process of applying for theirs whilst I wait for mine (recently sent off for renewal) or if I need to be patient and wait for mine to return. I know my old passport number.

No because your new passport will have a new number.
The service is quite quick these days, so yours should be back soon anyway

Is that something you checked. I have just renewed all our passports together so obviously the form has my expired passport number on it. I thought it was just so they can check from their records that you are a British citizen (which my old expired passport number will show). Am hoping ok - will be a pain if I have to resubmit!
