Techies! Can I use a laptop as a second screen with a mac

I use a mac and use the remote desktop to work from home. Work have recently got me a laptop.

I like working on my big Mac screen but wondered if I could use the laptop as a second screen and if I could what would I need?

I've googled but don't understand anything or if it's even possible!

There’s a new thing in the most recent Mac OS called Sidecar but I’ve got a feeling that’s only Mac to Mac and I’m assuming your work laptop is a PC. Might be worth a Google though.

My mac is a good few years old but still going strong. Seems a shame as I just want to use the laptop as an extra screen. I could get a work screen but don't have the space on my super tiny desk and the laptop just about fits on.
