We're going to a destination wedding in the Dordogne over the summer and are booking the hire car. Europcar have an electric option which DH is dying to try.
We're looking at an electric vehicle over the next two years or so, so I agree that it would be a great opportunity for an extended test drive experience. However I'm a bit worried about practicalities- Google says France is well set up for electric vehicles, but I'm worried about being stranded in the middle of nowhere with a kaput car! Venue is 120-130km from the car pick up point.
Basically, has anyone done it, what's the charging situation like (availability at motorway services) and how long do these vehicles take to charge? It would be a Nissan Leaf or similar.
