Just got myself signed off and I feel REALLY guilty…

Someone alleviate my guilt, please.

Tell me that having a sick note is perfectly reasonable, that work will be fine and that the people I look after at work will be fine.

Such anxiety just thinking about it.

If you had something physically wrong preventing you from working then you wouldn’t feel guilty, so why would you when mentally something isn’t right?

There’s a woman signed off from my office and I am so grateful to her for highlighting how much pressure we are under.

They will all manage without you. We are human, we will ALL need time off at some point in our careers. The fact you're anxious about it shows how much you care and how much you've probably given of yourself to the job over the years

My manager had a breakdown 2 years ago and had to take 3 months off. We all knuckled down, supported him and eachother and got through it and we were a stronger team for it. It did me good to see that it's OK to need time off to look after yourself.

Now stop thinking about it. Its all going to be ok but it's important not to dwell on it. Focus on your health and your recovery 💐
