Unable to return clothes due to covid...

I bought a coat back in December, didn't fit, planned on returning to store, however caught covid the following couple of days and have been poorly since, no energy, post viral illness. It's been 6 weeks, return policy says 30 days.

If I explain do you think they will accept the return? Well known big clothing store.

Couldn’t someone else take it back for you? When I was past the returns date with Argos by one day Hmm they wouldn’t take the item back

You may be lucky and get a credit note but they aren't obligated to as like you say it's past the 30 days.

I had no problem returning something months after the return date after the first lockdown with John Lewis, if that helps at all.

Why don’t you get in touch with their customer service team and see what they say?

DownWhichOfLate · 07/02/2022 08:24

Phone them and ask. Or email them.

I was isolating and didn't want to ask family members, most of who are vulnerable

I've emailed but had no response. I'll go anyway but just wondering if any one worked in retail and might have been able to advise.

Thanks, that's useful to know. I'd be happy with a credit note if they are unable to refund

Which store is it? I'd bet you are in with a chance of getting your money back.
Good luck

It's Zara

Lots of places are happy to make allowances for covid but not necessarily 6 weeks worth. Hopefully they'll sort it for you

Puppylucky · 07/02/2022 08:49

Forget it if its Zara. Their customer service is famously awful at the best of times.

notangelinajolie · 07/02/2022 08:52

Is it definitely 30 days? Lots of retailers extend their returns policy for things bought at Christmas to 60 days. I'd double check this first.

wonderfulworld45 · 07/02/2022 12:40

I've been and the shop assistant called the manager and they gave me a refund. I was not expecting that Smile

That's good news.
