Antidepressant withdrawal palpitations anyone?

I have been off Mirtazapine 15mg for 20 days now and the withdrawal anxiety and palpitations have become unbearable! They are constant throughout the day and night.

I’m exhausted but sleep is out of the question because my chest is fizzing and my heart is pounding out of my chest. If I do manage to drop off, I get jolted awake again within minutes.

I’ve tried everything, Phenergan, Nytol, Propanalol, deep breathing and counting sheep but none of it works.

Does anyone have any experience of this symptom after coming off Mirtazapine (or any AD for that matter) and if so how did you deal with it and how long did it last?

Will I ever be able to relax or sleep again?!

I think if you are having.constant heart palpitations you.should seek urgent medical help especially as they still happen when you take beta blockers

@MayThePawsBeWithYou

I did go to A&E a few days ago and got the all clear on ECG so sent home.

Maybe I need a higher dose of propanalol?

At home my HR is around 80 - 85 but it’s the force of the beats that are so disconcerting

Also called my GP the following day because I was still concerned and he had the hospital discharge notes but didn’t seem concerned about the HR because the ECG and troponin levels were normal
