Any gaming pc experts out there?

Ds (13) has been saving over the last couple of years for a gaming computer and is finally ready to bite the bullet. He has about £1300 but would have to cover. Monitor as well possibly.

I was hoping he'd have an idea of what to look for etc... but no, he's clueless on specs and seems to be drawn to the pretty colours rather than capabilities. I was hoping I could help him decipher the best specs he could afford rather than his friends recommendations which seem a little bit and miss but have now accepted that I'm equally clueless.

I'd hate to suggest something which turns out to be a complete waste of his money so am hoping someone out there is able to advise.

Ds plays roblox and Minecraft a lot currently but imagine this may change. I've looked at sites for ore build options such as ch4 pcs, Scan etc but my brain just can't weigh up the different options in a meaningful way. If anyone can advise on specific models for around £1200- £1300 I would be forever grateful and sanity may remain intact :)

Message from my son who works in IT and has built several PCs:

Your best bet to start off with, is to buy a Pre-built, despite them being more expensive than building one yourself - but I am sure he will probably build his own in a few years.
Scan is a great place with reasonable prices, CyberPowerPC is another quality one that I bought my first PC from.

For your sons budget, here is my recommendation:
SCAN PC link
It has a really good CPU, a very new model. It has 16GB of RAM - which is the perfect amount for Gaming nowadays. The GPU (RTX 3050) is fantastic for this pricepoint! It will play Minecraft with no trouble at all, and allow your son to branch out into other games that demand more power. The 1TB SSD will provide enough storage to download all the games he wants, at very high speed too.

There is also a little bundle from SCAN, which has that PC + keyboard, mouse, headset and monitor! The only extra things you would need are games!
Bundle link

Here is a slightly more expensive, and more powerful bundle - with monitor, keyboard, mouse etc - Bundle link

Hope you find this useful, have fun!
