Unfortunately, yes, a lot of people. It is only effective if taken before you ovulated. If you had already ovulated then the egg may already be fertilised and the MAP won't do anything.

Redannie118 · 06/02/2022 12:26

Yes my SIL. Took in in the first 24 hours but still didnt work. Is your period late?

Thedogshow · 06/02/2022 12:27

Yes, DD is doing her finals at university this year.

imhereforthecake · 06/02/2022 12:36

When is your period due? Is it soon enough you can check with an early test?

needhelp34 · 06/02/2022 12:41

Yes, and they’re 2 years old. It doesn’t work if you’ve already ovulated.

tcjotm · 06/02/2022 13:05

Yep, my friend who was 17. She took it after the condom broke. Still feeling really rough a month later and miss helpful me chirped ‘it doesn’t always work you know’. Oh if looks could kill 😂. Her daughter would be 25 by now, lovely kid.

Ooh, you ended up with twins? Eek.
needhelp34 · 06/02/2022 13:12

Take an early test. If you’re within six days of your expected period it should tell you. If you’re late and get a negative result, remember the morning after pill can delay your period by a week.

Try not to panic, it will not change the outcome. When it happened to me I was shocked, I never realised it was a possibility. I chose to continue with the pregnancy, that time. If you are pregnant and decide not to continue, remember you have options. Find out who your local reproductive choices provider is - it varies on location. Book a phone consultation immediately - I found with a recent pregnancy that it was quite hard to get an appointment earlier than two weeks. They will go through your options with you. You don’t need to make any decisions straightaway. Good luck

The more expensive one, forgotten the name now, does work after ovulation. Which one did you take?

needhelp34 · 06/02/2022 13:18

@tcjotm Ha! No! Just the one. I’m use to using they/them for work. He is two years old

LakesandSnow · 06/02/2022 13:38

Yep. Took it within the time frame but had no side effects from it so I did wonder. I'm obese and wonder if that reduced its effect? Wouldn't have it any other way now my little gift is really the light of my life.

betwixtlives · 06/02/2022 14:00

Plenty of people yes

BarleyG · 06/02/2022 14:24

Yes, I did.
Also got pregnant on the pill twice - never missed a pill. Then got pregnant with a coil! Confused

Goattrainer66 · 06/02/2022 14:38

Thanks for your replies. @itwasntaparty it was ezinelle. It's still to early to take a test but I'll be doing one asap.

@needhelp34 hahaha sorry, that makes sense. I think I leapt to how my friend would’ve reacted 😂

TheZahir · 27/02/2022 13:18

Did you end up having a positive pregnancy test? x
