Reaction to hair dye patch test!

Hey..im writing this post to spread awareness of how important patch tests are! I have been dying my hair for 10+years all different brands and colours and have never had a reaction until my patch test the other day... i havnt dyed my hair for a few years now and have been pregnant had s baby and had covid since the last time..i was given a patch test on friday which began to itch a little but i left it as the hairdresser said leave it for 48 hours..washed it off last night and it was sore and red, partner said its blistered!

I read up on it and apparently if you have had covid or a baby (other bodily changes) you can all of a sudden become allergic so please do your tests everyone..

Also wanted to ask if anyone knows how i could get rid of my grays now!?

Omg ,thank God you did the patch test as lot if people just skip it. Hope you are healing alright. I would suggest calling the hairdresser and asking for the name,brand and all details of the color company so you can steer away from this one .

It could be on specific brand you are allergic to so may be once this settles try a different one

My hairdresser told me that when someone has had covid it can cause them to become highly sensitive to hair dye, they have to re patch test if you've had covid since your last colouring.

My hairdresser said they had been told that covid and the vaccination could be having an effect, so we're patch testing everyone!

My hairdresser has a sign in the window saying if you've had Covid they need to know as they need to repatch test you, even if you're using a product you've previously been fine with.
