Any doctors or nurses out there? Looking for a quick answer

I have had a chest infection which has turned into tonsillitis, going on 3 weeks now. I am coughing up green phlegm and blood and blowing blood and phlegm out of my nose. My tonsils are very enlarged and very painful. I figure I probably need to go to the doctors and get anti biotics

I am also 4 weeks pregnant and need to have a medical abortion ASAP. I have the pills for this.

In what order do you suggest I do this? I realise I probably cannot take two different anti biotics at the same time? I feel very panicky about it all.

Do not take advice on the internet for this. Phone 111 or your GP.

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm not sure what you mean by 2 antibiotics, what are you taking now? The pills you have been given won't be antibiotics. Were you given a phone number to call with them as they can give better information than randoms on the Internet.

Not a doctor or a nurse, but I think you really need to see your gp.

You need to speak to someone in real life about this.

Poppins2016 · 06/02/2022 09:41

This is exactly what doctors/pharmacists are for, so don't feel anxious. You just need provide all the information and the professionals will tell you what the best course of action is for your circumstances.

If you think you need antibiotics today, I'd call 111 for an out of hours GP appointment/telephone call... tell them everything you've told us here and they'll let you know what to do. There will be a way of sorting this out for you.

Hope you feel better soon.

I was given anti biotics in my medical abortion pack to prevent infection after I have the abortion.

I am nervous because I want to take the pills for the medical abortion straight away but I’m nervous about doing it because I am so ill. I have 3 DC and no support (single mum.)

I am also nervous as to whether I can have a medical abortion whilst on penicillin and take the other antibiotics concurrently

You are right I need to speak to a doctor but it is Sunday

You need proper medical advice as the abortion pill may cause vomiting and diarrhoea, not ideal if you are taking antibiotics too

mdh2020 · 06/02/2022 09:46

Speak to 111 and then they will get a doctor to call you

winesolveseverything · 06/02/2022 09:47

Call 111 and request a call back from a nurse or doctor- explain that it is an urgent query regarding medication and needs resolving today.

Look after yourself, hope you feel a bit better soon..

Starlightstarbright1 · 06/02/2022 09:50

You need to call 111..

This really information you should take advise off the intent. You could be seen today

MrsJaxTellerPlease · 06/02/2022 10:15

Look up BNF. It lists all drugs with their contraindications. Most of the time it's fine to take two different types of antibiotics however you do need to double check.

coldfeetmama · 06/02/2022 10:16

@Removerhecladding who was your provider for medical abortion tablets ? Just asking as giving antibiotics with this is not common

Please attend asap and have your throat looked at
Could be something you can get on top of quickly
If something like a Quincy you could need more medical help.
