I'm just drinking my first cup of tea of the day, in silence, as usual. Bliss!

The house is clean, and reasonably tidy, so nothing major to be done this weekend. There is washing, and the floors need to be mopped though. School shirts need ironing too, but they can wait for tomorrow.

Me & the girls are going to have a walk to Asda for a few bits we need for tea, and probably a few random things too.

When we get back, I'll check whether they have homework & do my last bit of prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday evening.

Hopefully I'll manage some more of my new crochet project too this afternoon. I expect the girls will disappear to either play Minecraft, or watch other people play it 🙄

Dd1's cooking - something chickeny with sweet chilli but she hasn't sent me the recipe yet so I'm not quite sure what 🤷‍♀️

What about you lot? :)

Been up since 6.45 - school run (kids have school on Saturdays), back to stick on some washing, caught up on some work, had a coffee with DH, now back to school for chapel, taking the kids out for lunch, back to school AGAIN for DS1 to play a rugby match against another school, home to pick up sleeping bags and get changed and back to school a fourth time(!) to drop the kids off for a whole school sleepover. Thank goodness I drive an electric car now, no wonder I used to spend £70 a week in petrol!

And then this evening I'm going out for dinner with a bunch of other school mums while our kids are at school overnightGrin

MonkeyPuddle · 05/02/2022 10:25

I’m off to buy a new whirlygig and pegs this afternoon with my mum, I know, hold the press, it’s just too exciting.

Until then I’ll do some general cleaning. Yay.

peaceanddove · 05/02/2022 10:29

Still cosy in bed waiting for DH to bring me my 2nd cup of coffee. We're popping out soon for brunch, then he's off to watch the rugby with a few mates.

I have a few errands to run this afternoon, then looking forward to a quiet evening in, just me, my new needlepoint kit, my new scented candle and a bit of chocolate. Bliss x

Hauled up at home with covid (annoyingly we were being careful as we're meant to be away). Olympics on in the background and DH likes racing, so will have that on later. Reading when I feel able. Not our usual Saturday!

Hope everyone else enjoys their weekend.

icelollycraving · 05/02/2022 10:45

@Postchristmasflab

In bed with covid. Watching tv and sleeping. Pretty much where I’ve been for a week. Listening to Ds shrieking on his PS4. He has covid but luckily more perky than me.

Snap! Although I only tested positive last night, I feel bloody awful! DS was ill for about 15 minutes and has been bouncing off the walls all week..

Hope you have a speedy recovery @icelollycraving

Thank you! Dh is vulnerable so he’s in the living room and I got the bedroom. Having to keep clear! Last day tomorrow and back to work on Monday, and school for Ds (hopefully!)

Hi all, I’ve recently converted…….to Aldi. I can’t believe the difference in cost for our weekly shop. Roughly £15 a week cheaper for an average shop for 2 adults/1 teen. So I was there at 8.30 and spent £49 instead of probably £62 ish at Asda. I’m now doing housework with 90s dance anthems blaring on Alexa. DH has gone to get his hair cut and a new tyre on my car. DD is at her Saturday job (local tea room). DMIL (lives with us) is ironing and watching this weeks Apprentice - tutting at their poor spelling! When DH is back I’m doing eggy bread and bacon for lunch. This afternoon he’s making shelves for the office, I’m chilling or snoozing and then we’re having minted lamb chops for dinner. We might go to the Cinema to watch Belfast afterwards or just watch a film or play X Box together 🤗. I also need to renew my car insurance and see if I can lower the cost by saying I now WFH and don’t commute.

My oldest friend was due to come and stay but can't at the last minute so need to use the time to get more house move sorting and packing done, dog walk, freezer audit, MSc studying and general get house ready for week ahead with laundry, cleaning etc.

I'm still in bed with coffee and dog snuggle after drinking too much with a friend I haven't seen for ages last night. I get up at 6am in the week so this is a total treat.

Might dye hair.

Chelsea26 · 05/02/2022 11:18

I’ve managed to break at least 3 ribs and my shoulder this week so I am in the sofa counting down the minutes to next painkillers and trying to postpone all the fun things I was meant to be doing over the next few weeks Sad

DP has taken DS1 to football training and is shopping for the beef stew he’s making for us this evening before bringing him back and then dropping him off for a party this afternoon. DS2 is on his switch with most of his class from the sounds of it.

When DP gets back we’ll be watching football and then rugby, we were meant to be going to my sister’s birthday drinks later but clumsy me has buggered that so I imagine we’ll finish of Reacher on prime.

Peridot1 · 05/02/2022 11:33

Ouch @Chelsea26 - that sounds really painful.

@Xiaoxiong - my DS used to do Saturday school too. I HATED it with a passion. So glad he’s done with school!

joysmoy66 · 05/02/2022 12:00

I'm currently on my exercise bike. Ds1 is at a bowling party,ds2 on FaceTime and minecraft with his friend,dd watching YouTube in her room. It's been one week since husband left. We are having a trial separation. Feeling a little fragile so will try and keep busy. Will clean house top to bottom after I've finished on my bike then have a glass of wine and some cheese and rubbish tv this evening.

Rebelmcstreettuff · 05/02/2022 13:00

Hubby bought me breakfast in bed,I slept in until 10.00am!
Have been ill with chest infection all week and struggling through work so needed the rest.
DS2 gaming, annoyed because it's too wet to play footie with his friends,DS1 doing uni work.
Just helped (held the lead lol) to clean the lounge carpet with our new vax machine.
Oh the satisfaction of seeing the dirt, dog hair etc in the tank.
Washing, ironing for me this afternoon then pizza this evening for everyone so I don't have to cook.

Camomila · 05/02/2022 13:10

Went for my Covid booster this morning, then had a walk along the seafront with DH and DC. Bought Subway for lunch as DS1 had seen youtubers eat it lots and wanted to try it. It wasn't bad and DS1 was happy.

I've got a bit of an achy arm now so I will probably potter about indoors this afternoon - maybe finally watch Encanto. DH will probably take toddler DS2 to the supermarket shop with him after his nap (It's their "thing", DS2 loves sitting in the trolley seat and snacking Grin )

MrsDThomas · 05/02/2022 13:14

Im alone all day🎉

Shopping done
House is tidy and smells good
Going for a long walk later, taking my friend’s dog. She’s heavily pregnant and doggo needs a lot more than she can manage. Taking him up a mountain to tire him for the evening.

AiryFairy1 · 05/02/2022 13:26

Have the slow cooker on making pulled pork for the first time - really hoping it’s working!

And nagging the covid-positive-but-asymptomatic kids to do something productive before they disappear into Minecraft world, and putting off going to the shop (after lecturing ds at length, about procrastination being the thief of time Grin)

dementedma · 05/02/2022 17:26

Slobbing in front of the fire, watching rugby. Pizza for tea.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 06/02/2022 11:26

Having a home day today.

Just popped a chicken in the slow cooker for roast dinner later. Also just making butternut squash, ginger and miso soup.

Hoping to do some baking with the children this afternoon we got a children's baking kit and it's sugar free caramel chocolate bites they sound great. Using dates etc rather than sugar.

Potter around the garden aswell hopefully, got some new bird feeders to hang up etc.

Roast then call the midwife on catch up when children asleep.

A lovely slow Sunday
