Is Broadstairs nice to visit?

We have a 3yo (obsessed with beaches) and a newborn. Would Broadstairs be a nice place to go on holiday?

Any advice or recommendations welcomed!

I've spent a fair chunk of time in Broadstairs and always enjoyed it., The beach is lovely and well maintained. Plenty of pubs, restaurants and seaside shops to pop in to. Good public transport links to neighbouring areas like Ramsgate and Margate. Ramsgate is nice for a day trip also, marina is beautiful during the day and in the evening. Thanet has lots of nice places to visit if you stay in the more "touristy" areas. Like all places, it has its downtrodden areas but they are easily avoided.

Sandwich is really nice. A nicer town than Broadstairs or Ramsgate but not as much of a seaside town. Worth a visit though.

Broadstairs host a "Folk Week" each year, usually around August. Think folk music and Morris dancing! The town is buzzing when that's on with lots to do. If you don't like it busy, avoid at that time.

It’s lovely! There are some smaller bays that are great with a toddler and baby - less busy than the main beach viking bay. Lots of cafes, pubs, restaurants and a nice independent high street.
It’s a great base also for visiting local areas - whitstable, Canterbury and deal or Dover castle.
Morellis ice cream parlour is right out of the 50’s and serves a huge selection of flavours.

I’d stay at Joss Bay or similar, and make day trips to Broadstairs, Margate etc.

Thanks for the tips!

@TheWayTheLightFalls, why Joss Bay rather than Broadstairs? I don't know the area at all!

I love Broadstairs. We used to rent a big old house on the cliff top and always went to Joss Bay for beach days- the town beach is more developed and busier. Traffic can get busy on hot days/ in holidays.
It's not Pampelonne. Neither is it Scarborough. I've had holidays in both of those too.

Minnis Bay is the best beach in Thanet. Nice restaurant right on the seafront. Place for ice creams and to hire bikes. Can walk right along the sea wall to Reculver towers.
