How do you know you’ll be able to cope with a second child?

Just that really! Keep doubting ourselves here.

There’s a point where it’s easier to have two as they play together.
The time before that is less easy than having one, but it passes.

I know I wouldn't so only one for me!

What are you doubting? Money? The age gap? The process of pregnancy and birth? You know you can care for a child I’m hoping?

I know for sure I can manage to care for several children more than I actually have. But not sure I could be pregnant with, whilst simultaneously caring for, and also paying for, more than I have, which is why I stopped.

You don’t know but highly unlikely you won’t manage. I found I had less time to worry with two. And you get down time when they amuse each other (if they get on, mine do luckily).

You look around and realise there are people more useless than you managing...

Well be at people do. The world is full of families of two or more children and not families where they gave one up because they couldn't cope. It's hard at first but not as hard as going from 0 to 1 child. You get the hang of it and then eventually they play together and you finally get to finish a cup of tea.

*because people do

We're currently debating this too!
