Manchester Opera House on my own- parking help

I am going to an event at Manchester's Opera House- I'm going on my own, so I'm wondering where the best place to park is from a safety point of view as it's in the evening so I'll have to walk to and from my car in the dark. Can anyone advise please? Thanks.

Not sure sorry! Well done on a solo outing - will be trying one myself very soon. Is LOTS of parking in Mcr and i think if you check out the theatre website they may recommend some? Its a fairly well lit area of the city. If you go to the car park that is recommended by the theatre chances are other theatre goers will also be walking that way so an element of safety in numbers. Enjoy yourself

There’s an NCP just along the road but I think it’s a multi-storey, although if there’s a show on I expect plenty of people will be heading back there. You could also try on the street on Byrom street / lower Byrom street but I expect you’d need to be quite early to get a space www.ncp.co.uk/find-a-car-park/car-parks/manchester-spinningfields/

Thank you! It's an event that mainly I wanted to see, DH and I were going together but by the time we got round to booking there were only single seats left! So I thought I'd go myself Grin

Thank you that's helpful. I might call the venue and see which one they recommend is the best.

The Spinningfields one suggested definitely best from safety point of view (just not necessarily cheapest). It's also the closest car park, well lit and as mentioned, other members of audience will be parking there (as it's the closest).

Parking on Lower Byrom Street would've been my suggestion couple of years ago, but it's maximum 1 or 2 hours now (can't remember which).

I'd go Spinningfields or down Deansgate at the Northern Warehouse. Neither are cheap but are well lit and safe.

Definitely NCP Soinningfields. You can prebook and also sometimes there’s a discount using the app. The Opera House used to offer a discount too if you validated your ticket.

Thanks everyone. £23 to park at Spinningfields just for a few hours Shock I'll pay it though, there's no way I'm walking further in the dark on my own. Once upon a time I wouldn't have even thought about it. Thanks so much for your help.
