How can I be more patient?

V stressful at home at the moment, DH working ridiculous hours, I'm off with covid, 2 little ones... you get the picture.

I just don't have much patience with DH and tend to get irritated by what I see as stupid mistakes. So today doing a covid test I make sure he's OK and then 2 seconds later he can't undo the vial of liquid, and then opens it upside down. I shout 'Oh for heaven's sake'.

We've become a shout household and I really don't want that to continue. How can we be better?

If you feel yourself loosing your cool take a sip of water. I was sceptical but it really helps.

Yes, I agree with @Tiramysu, my grandma used to give us that very advice! Also, it's easier to keep calm and see the big picture when all your needs have been met. Do a quick check in and ask yourself if you're Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired. (HALT)

Oh that's a useful tip, thank you. And I guess if it doesn't work I could use the water to drown DH

Leave the room whilst he’s being incompetent, the more you help him the more he will be more needy. Let him fuck up and clean up, let him sort things out himself he isn’t a baby
