My fridge is mooing

I've checked. There is not a cow in there and there is also not also one of those bated biscuit tins that make animal noises at you.

My fridge is mooing. It doesn't matter how long it's been since I opened the door, it just mooing at me. I'm probably noticing it because we're isolating and I don't normally have to hide from the children in the kitchen during the day.
I showed my husband the miraculous mooing fridge and he had no suggestions or interest as to the cause of it...

So I leave it to the collective wisdom of Mumsnet. Has the spirit of a cow possessed my fridge? Is there some sort of cheeky fuckery going on? Or is it just plain broken?

Ominously, it has not made a sound whilst I've typed this after mooing all day.

MIL had a mooing Beko fridge freezer. No wine or water holder in the middle though @BookNerdy

Mine definitely makes noises but I'm not sure they could be described as mooing Or maybe I've just never realised it was a moo, I can't say it's a sound I would generally expect from my fridge! I will listen with new ears when I'm in the kitchen later

My previous rental had a mooing fridge. When I first moved in, I assumed we were near a field an a cow had recently been separated from her calf, or similar.

I lived there for a year and it continued to function adequately throughout.

I think the fridge is hungry and you are stuffing it with the wrong things.

Open the door gently, introduce a bunch of succulent long grass, close the door and back away slowly.

The mooing will stop.

At least it doesn't sound like this!

I used to have a gadget in an old fridge that when door was opened started mooing. Was to warn door was open. I miss that.

I wish my fridge mooed, it would be like having a lovely pet in the kitchen. Mine just makes loud sudden snapping and banging noises, or ticking - I'm afraid of the ticking...

We’re on holiday but have our own business so still working. The fridge in our room makes a sound just like a mobile phone ringing quietly. I keep thinking it’s a work call, not so bad in the day but we’re a few hours behind the uk so it wakes me up!

Brilliant! Mine is also a mooing Beko. Fortunately, it’s put in the utility room and not the kitchen so I don’t hear it much.

Haha this made me laugh as I have a fridge that did that!! No other word can be used to describe the sound.

Ours has periods of humming/mooing with increasing loudness and gets ice at the bottom of the freezer part now so I assume it's on the long shuffle out. But I'm waiting for it to reach the natural end rather than resorting to euthanasia as it still seems to be bravely soldiering on otherwise. I have a reminder in my phone to chip off the sheet of ice every few days.

My Beko fridge freezer moos too, didn't realise it was a Beko thing until now 😂

The mooing has slowed down tonight. I've been vigilantly listening.
I've been playing some mooosic to soothe jt.

This thread has proven I’m not going mad. Our Beko fridge moos! No one else can hear it though. I thought it was haunted. I’ve been chatting to it to try and work out if there is anything I can do for it.
