Can you find me some trainers?!

I hate them so I've no idea what's in fashion/acceptable etc but I seem to need them more and more for comfort!

Think jeans and trench coat styling! I've seen some cute ones in next with decent support and a leopard print star on the side, but all sold out!

Can you help a 50 year old not look clueless?!

What's your budget?

Dollygirl2008 · 31/01/2022 19:43

£60 ish? Obviously less is ideal!

I like Superga. They are comfy for school run, park, dog walk in non muddy places. Not sure about in fashion but I don’t really care. I wear with jeans and t-shirts/jumper/shirt. Been wearing for 10 years now and I am 41.

Converse then
They are really comfortable and on trend apparently ha!
My daughter got me in to them

roastingmichael · 31/01/2022 19:50

Superga or Veja and you can get canvas or leather. Some of the Veja will be over your budget.

John Lewis have a leopard star trainer..

BirdIsland · 31/01/2022 19:53

I've a couple of pairs of Adidas/Stella McCartney, if you can get some in the sale they'll only be a bit over your budget, they're super comfy and a bit different.

Blueuggboots · 31/01/2022 19:57

Converse are very uncomfortable as they don't have any support and the soles are really thin.

ollobololo · 31/01/2022 20:08

the ultimate comfort shoe are skechers, the go-walk ones are like walking on clouds (buy in store not online because there are lots of rip offs online). They are not necessarily the most stylish though. About 60ish

justaweeone · 31/01/2022 20:08

I also often buy kids onesGrin

Flat soles aren't always the best for walking.

I wear Nike Internationalists, they go for miles and I can break into a run when I'm late.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/01/2022 20:12

I’m 51 and I have been wearing converse since I was about 12. Canvas, leather, hi, lo the only ones which have been uncomfortable were the platform sole ones.

BletchleyGirls · 31/01/2022 20:23

Try Russell & Bromley for platform trainers @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads it’s like wearing a pair of slippers

Dollygirl2008 · 31/01/2022 20:28

Loving the superga and John Lewis ones! Thanks all!

Soludos!

Super comfy, well made, reasonably priced and very individual.

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 31/01/2022 20:35

Nike airforce1s is what the young people all wear.
If you are a size 6 or below, then you can get them in kids so cheaper

happilybemused · 01/02/2022 10:31

New Balance, Vega or Superga.
