Has anyone used Bumble BFF?

I have always worked in a city about 20 miles away and moved in with dp a few years ago to his home town. I have good friends in the city but don't really know anyone here. I would love to have a few friends I could just meet for a coffee or pop to the shops with without a major expedition.

I tried meet up a few years ago and got removed from the group as the organiser said she would remove anyone not attending any of the events in a 2 month period. I asked her not to as I was working long hours and had an unwell family member at the time but she did anyway. Though its a new organiser now so maybe worth trying again?

But I am also interested in trying Bumble bff too. Does anyone have any experiences of this or know of any other similar things? Ds is grown so no parent groups. And hobby type activities seem very thin on the ground here aside from netball strangely and I am shite at netball Grin

I downloaded it and matched with a few people but then chickened out. It felt too unnatural, couldn’t imagine meeting up. It’s one thing being turned down after a date romantically, but I couldn’t comprehend how it goes when you don’t click platonically. Saying that, I’m an awful coward and I don’t do myself any favours as result. It will be interesting to hear how others have got on with it

I’d definitely recommend giving meet up another go :)

Oh gosh. So you actually have to match too? I know how the dating aspect works but for some reason I thought it would be different for bff. That IS scary
