Has anyone tested negative to leave isolation early?

My son is on day eight of his isolation and is still testing positive, the only symptom he has had throughout is a temperature on the first evening (which is why we tested in the first place) but still have faint lines coming up on the LFT.

Just wondering really whether there is any chance of coming out of isolation early although now it would only be one day early anyway and also what the logic is that at 10 ten days you are fine even if still testing positive on day 10.

My 7yo was strongly positive yesterday (day 5) but negative today (day 6). We’ve tested her twice just to check. Line just disappeared. I’m still positive on day 10. It has been very gradually fading for 2-3 days though.

To update - DS has gone to the full 10 days but will be back at school tomorrow - hallelujah!!
