Sat up with a coffee. Anyone else?

Eeesh my body clock is always set to morning so 4.30 for a child to wake me is the worst as my body then thinks it's day time.

I'm in the boys room as the eldest has a fever of 40.2 enjoying a coffee while he doses.

Anyone else up? What's happening in your house

I'm swigging water but debating whether to make a nice milky coffee.
I have a hospital appointment later so should be asleep, but my pattern is all messed up.

Workinghardeveryday · 31/01/2022 05:24

Oh no, hope he gets well soon x.

I am awake I think because I have Covid, been sleeping rubbish apart from Friday night when I slept for 11 hours. So tired all the time from no sleep.

Everyone else asleep

BirdyBee · 31/01/2022 05:26

My 3 year old is unwell too so sat here with a cup of tea whilst she nods off after a long night and the calpol kicks in, may as well stay up as my almost 2 year old will be up by 6am.

Youvegotafriendinme · 31/01/2022 05:26

I’m Awake because DD woke for a feed and I don’t think falling back to sleep for an hour will be any good so decided to stay up. Just about to go make a cup of tea.
Hope your LO feels better soon

ComeBackPeterComeBackPaul · 31/01/2022 05:28

Something similar here @Workinghardeveryday - my dd has just tested positive, I have symptoms (and am a serious worrier) and am googling the odds of a family member getting it too!

Sobeyondthehills · 31/01/2022 05:30

Morning

I think I had some horrible dream, as I have woken up feeling very anxious, but I am not sure what about.

My sleep has been screwed since getting covid at the start of the year as well, so its not helped

applecrumbleforteaagain · 31/01/2022 05:35

I'm up with horrid period cramps, I've decided to not try and grab another hours sleep the house wakes around 6.30 anyway.

On the plus side my face now takes a hour to wake up so I'll be less crinkled later 🤣

When did my life become eye bags vs wrinkles.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 31/01/2022 05:35

Morning! Still trying to get my 5.5 week old DS to sleep independently. He's done a 2 hour stint at the start of the night in his sleep nest 2 nights running, but then is fussy the rest of the night

applecrumbleforteaagain · 31/01/2022 05:37

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee aww congratulations, I just googled a sleep nest, looks like I could do with one.

That looks so cozy.

LuvMyBoyz · 31/01/2022 05:37

I’ve been awake since 3.30am. It’s been a few weeks since this has happened and it used to happen regularly so I’m not too unhappy about it. I’m contemplating going for an early walk to watch the sunrise but Storm Corrie is loud!

Iwasonline · 31/01/2022 05:39

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee congrats on the newborn. I'd love some newborn snuggles right about now. Kudos to you. I gave up quickly and just co slept.

High fevers are usual for this one. He will have to have a pcr today as his dad just finished his covid isolation period yesterday

I am up for work ,I am WFH and don't officially start for a good few hours but we have a process that needs to be done every Monday and takes ages so I try to get a head start

ABitBesottedWithMyDog · 31/01/2022 05:48

Also up. I had to drag a recalcitrant pup into the rain at 4am and she is still lying on my lap grizzling about her Terrible Ordeal.

Really hope your little one gets better swiftly. 40.2 is a bit nerve wracking.

Iwasonline · 31/01/2022 05:59

40.2 is high. I agree. If it were my other child I'd be panicking but this is a common occurrence with my 5 year old. In fact, scarily, 40.2 is on the lower side for him. I'd only get concerned when it goes over 41. His body has always done it, even as a baby.
My four year old, on the other hand, has only had a fever over 40 in his life. One time for an infection that required iv antibiotics and the other when he had an ear infection and chest infection combined

I want to get up to make another coffee but I'm at risk of waking everyone

MyCatStaresAtMe · 31/01/2022 06:03

The wind woke me at 5am. That, combined with period pains has kept me awake.

VanillaSpiceCandle · 31/01/2022 06:07

My DH brought our 8 week old baby upstairs just before 5.30 for a breastfeed and so he could go to sleep after being up with her.

She’s having a feed now and I’m hoping to try putting her in the new Next to Me we’ve bought and see if she’s willing to be put down. If not, I’ll get a coffee and then hold her until my DH wakes up/has a 10 minute break at work for a shower.

You deserve a coffee! Just creep slowly!

RobertSmithsLipstick · 31/01/2022 06:14

I have a milk coffee now, and some pain chocolat.

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 31/01/2022 06:25

I'm at working, counting down til I can go home at 9am.

Namast3 · 31/01/2022 06:31

Just had to take parental leave as my daughters pre school room is closed due to covid striking down all the staff members. It's going to be a long...... Day.

Indoctro · 31/01/2022 06:38

I've not slept all night, the storm battering the house and house freezing due to no power.

autienotnaughty · 31/01/2022 06:57

Storm woke me at 415 then ds needed 3 wees between 5-6 . Been up since 6, love a morning coffee but it gives me reflux 😩 so starting day with camomile tea.

Whatliesbeneath707 · 31/01/2022 08:36

@Iwasonline bless you. That temperature is very very high and if he was in hospital, I'm sure they would be concerned. Have you been able to give him medicine to bring it down? I would still contact your GP for advice on this, even if it is not unknown for him. I hope he's soon better & you get some sleep.
