Talk to me about Paxos?

Any holiday suggestions for Paxos?

I'm thinking of booking a villa for the first time. We usually go All Inc. but want something different this year.

I'd love to know more about the different parts of the Island best beaches etc?

Travelling with 2 adults 2 young teens. Would love to be near a beach and a port with some gentle nightlife, restaurants more than nightclubs! Do you need a car when on the Island?

Also is it tricky actually getting there?

Thanks in advance. Smile

@ErrolTheDragon that's what it was - Sunsail! I went on my own and we stayed in apartments and went out sailing in the day around the island and then out for food in the evening. A fun filled week. It was probably nearer 30 years ago actually

Here's some unfiltered paxos for you - hope this works! There's an amazing ice cream parlour by the harbour and we sat and watched the boats while working our away through the menu. Smile

Sorry to hijack the post but does anyone know how easy it is to get baby stuff on the island? Going next month with an infant and toddler. Thinking things like nappies/ swim nappies/ formula. Going for 10 days so don’t fancy carrying that much on top of usual luggage (toddler potty trained but would still need swim nappies and baby poos A LOT). Am I better off picking stuff up in Corfu en route?

In answer to OP, I have friends and relatives that have been regularly and absolutely love it and rave about it. None who would be thinking about baby needs though so can’t answer my question.

@whirlycarly

An ice cream parlour you say? Hmmm very interesting!

It's difficult not to like Paxos and Anti Paxi unless you are looking for Michelin star restaurants. I

would suggest research villa locations carefully on the map and, where possible street view.

If you intend to fly to Corfu and take a ferry from there, it is possible you may have to overnight on Corfu, possibly on outward and return legs of your trip, depending on what time you actually arrive. Have a contingency plan in the event of a delayed flight.

Details of all ferry services in Greece can be found here

These are updated regularly but there can be last minute changes.

I love paxos - don't know about baby stuff but they have a specialty apple pie - milopita which is amazing bought fresh from the bakery every morning.
Also keep an eye for the weather - we nearly missed our flights back because the boats were cancelled- this was October and literally the last flights of the season!
