Tips for teaching 9yo how to tie shoelaces

Anyone have any tips? We've had velcro until now. He's struggling and so I am I struggling how to teach him!

We've tried doing two loops and tying together. I do wonder if his laces are a bit short for making the loops properly. Can you get special laces for teaching??

Any tips, videos or suggestions welcome.

My son used this method
You stick the ends of the laces into the top eyelets to hold them still. Genius!
