Do you think this is positive?

Did this lateral flow. Got a bit of a scratchy throat but feel well apart from that.

Left it and thought it was neg. Just went back to finish dinner (20 minutes later) and there is a v v v faint line. I don't know if you'll see it on here.

I'll attach a pic anyway. I've just booked a PCR but I've got a bloody surgery very soon so this will be quite annoying!

Do you think this is positive?

It looks negative. Try doing another one tomorrow.

Glamping1234 · 30/01/2022 20:59

I think I can see a faint line. I've just tested positive with PCR this morning after having faint line on LFT.

I've had covid twice now and my first test, when I felt very rough was very obvious and quick. This time it was very faint and took the full time to show up and I don't feel as bad just a scratchy throat and bad headache.

I have attached my faint tests which turned out to be positive on PCR.

Can't see a line but I only tested positive on day 2 of a horrific headache and general grogginess. If you look after someone vulnerable I think it's fair enough to book a pcr.

I would def book a PCR if you want to be certain. My LF was negative but PCR positive 👀

JugglingJanuary · 30/01/2022 22:43

@MacauliflowerCulkin

Read the instruction in your box (they vary) swab your throat even if it says you only need to do nostrils.

Do your booked PCR. They test in different ways.

Do it for your Grandad & keep testing!

autumnhare · 30/01/2022 22:49

I can see a faint line but also it's bled in an unusual way so hard to see properly. I would definitely keep your PCR as you have symptoms and test again on a LF in the morning.

I've just had covid and my first two LF tests were very very faint so definitely keep testing.

@dementedpixie yes!

Do you think this is positive?
20week · 31/01/2022 00:06

@Arcadia I'v never seen those either. We've been sent the 30 minute ones this past week (2 packs). Mind you it only took seconds to actually get a positive.

Whitefire · 31/01/2022 00:18

My dd got a very very faint positive on Thursday evening. We did it again Friday mid morning and it pretty much had shown up positive by the time the control line appeared.

I did throat and nose with the original tests.

BobbyBleu · 31/01/2022 00:25

Some of the tests say 30 mins and some are 15 mins wait time.....so you need to check what the instructions say in your box.
I do see the faint line. I hope you feel better soon either way!

Thunderface · 31/01/2022 00:41

It looks like a test I had before testing positive on a PCR. The line wasn't clear but the test looked different to previous negative tests.

Anyone else pining for the days when "Is this positive" was only about pregnancy tests?!

What's everyone taking about, OP did it right, you have to do view the results in a 30min window. She's not wrong 🙈

Depends on the test. Some have a shorter time in which to observe the result e.g. with orient gene you wait 15 minutes and disregard results observed after 20 minutes
Abraxan · 31/01/2022 17:50

My first symptom two weeks ago was headache, that wouldn't shift with meds. Tested negative for 2+ days, inc morning on the Thursday. Doing daily tests due to high cases in school, and PHE advice. By the time I got home on Thursday at 4p, with headache getting worse and feeling warm, it was a very definite positive. PCR the following day was positive too.

Hope you don't feel too poorly OP. The headache and head cold type symptoms seem to be very much key with this strain.

Lazypuppy · 31/01/2022 17:53

You don't need to have a pcr if you have a positive lft
