Anyone from Harrogate? What to do on an evening there?

As the title says really.

Not familiar with the area but me and my sister are spending a weekend there in February. The days we have sorted already but we don't know what to do in the evenings. Don't really want to sit in a pub/bar all night

Any suggestions would be really appreciated

Can recommend the ivy for food. There's an every man cinema, a trip to york on the train is always good

There are lots of lovely restaurants- what sort of good do you like?

The turkish baths are open to 8:30pm. Ruďdings park do evening spa events. There's an everyman cinema.

There is a fabulous Albanian restaurant there called Saranda. I wish I could eat there again. It was truly amazing

Harrogate theatres - including Harrogate Theatre, Convention Centre, Royal Hall, etc, should have something on.

@Padamae I think my meal from there was up there with some of the best food I have ever had. So envious if you get to go regularly Envy

The Ivy is a ready meal chain restaurant -dont mistake it for the original Ivy. (in my opinion)

3s A Crowd
The Starling
Stuzzi

Saranda. are all local

Bettys has been closed in the evenings- not sure when they plan to reopen but a good time to go is for supper.

Everyman cinema is good- the bar area is nice although expensive and a bit limited in its offer.

February- maybe make snowman on The Stray?

Love La Feria.

As above for the theatre and Royal Hall.

We had an awful experience at the Ivy in Harrogate. Rude and unpleasant waiter, awful service and food that I wouldn’t serve to guests if I’d made it. Such a let down.

Its chill serve ready meal type food I believe (unless it has changed from when it opened)

I personally find Harrogate town centre quite depressing, particularly on an evening - there is zero buzz.

I think you're probably better off incorporating an evening in York on your trip.

Or Grantley Hall www.grantleyhall.co.uk near Fountains Abbey/Ripon is nice for a fancy meal and drinks.

Leonthelobster · 30/01/2022 17:42

TheHoptimistwell that explains it a bit. It was a real let down.

mrsrhodgilbert · 30/01/2022 18:02

I’d also recommend the William and Victoria, but book, The Tannin Level and Sasso for excellent independent restaurants

garlictwist · 30/01/2022 18:06

Tah Chang (Thai) restaurant is really good.

BovrilonToast · 30/01/2022 18:07

I second William and Victoria. Also the Orchid which has spectacular pan Asian food, now I don’t live there I miss it. 😞

Can recommend a great cafe with outdoor, sheltered space too. I think they do some evenings. Booking recommended even in the day.
