@WhereDoesThisToiletGo has it right. It's Size 10 Girlfriend by The Chairs, from 1988ish. Wonderful song, I have a copy on 7-inch vinyl

It is a brilliant song , jingle jangley .Reminds me of me and friends going to gigs and getting drunk on happiness and cider.
