Anyone got a Suzuki Vitara or C3 Aircross?

Stuck between these as possible new cars. Need something with a decent size boot for the dogs. We also have a Golf but this one will be our main family car.

Any observations on either are welcome.

Any other suggestions also welcome (but no Vauxhalls - hate them).

Ive got a Vitara, got a fair size boot, depends on what size your dogs are
Ive got room for two cocker spaniels or one setter with the back seats up, plenty of room with seats down.
I found my Honda Jazz the best for boot space, and surprisingly roomy inside, but got the reputation of being an old farts car! I didnt care as it did the job!

It's just the look of the Vauxhalls you don't like is it? Or the name?

The Vitara has a lovely gear change and is really nice to drive, I much prefer it to the golf we used to have. The boot is a decent size but not huge. We don't have dogs so not sure how much space you need.

I've had two in the past and had nothing but problems with them. Not being a snob.

I have a c3 aircross... boot is not as big as I thought and it's noisy to drive ( comparing it to previous c4 Picasso). I wish it had chunkier wheels/ tyres too, especially in recent snow....In retrospect I wish I'd either got another C4 or stretched budget further for an "proper" SUV.

I wasn't implying you were being a snob at all @LadyCleathStuart.

Citroen and Vauxhall are the same company and the C3 Aircross is mechanically identical to the Vauxhall Crossland and it's built at the Opel (so Vauxhall) factory in Saragossa on the same production line.

Ah thank you, did not know this. I had a Crossland and love it but it had a lot of issues so I had to get rid of it.

Well there you go. Vauxhall, Opel, Citroen, Peugeot, and now Fiat, are all owned by 'Stellantis' and are now producing what amounts to different variants of the same cars. In much the same way as Seat/Skoda/VW/Audi are the same cars, although without the market-differentiation that the VAG brands have managed.

There's a quite clear Skoda > Seat > VW > Audi brand-perception with VAG that isn't really there with Vauxhall/Opel/Citroen/Peugeot/Fiat - the 4 brands compete against each other in the same quality-perception bracket.

We have a Vitara, bought it new, it's just coming up to 3 years old in Feb. We really like it, it's roomy, comfy, drives well. Haven't had any issues with it at all.

Highly recommended.
