Glasses prescription

Hi does anyone know about glasses prescriptions because I'm not sure if this is a typo?

Last prescription
Sph +0.50 cyl -0.50 Ax 180

Latest for same eye

+0.25 -0.50 5

Is the 5 a typo?

Last time the print was smudged and due to gdpr they would not tell me the smudged digit over the phone so before I have to travel back to the store to query this i thought I'd ask if anyone knows about these things and if the 5 is an error?

The 5 is the axis of your astigmatism which is -0.5, at your last test is was 180. Basically on the horizontal plane so just 5 degrees difference sine your last eye test.

Last time axis was 170 in one and 180 in the other so I've got 150 and 5 this time so the 5 just looked a bit odd

@fedup078 - no not odd at all, in fact less change than the other eye. Glad I could help.

Yeah the other eye is pretty redundant so I think they just wing it with that one 😂 even the Hubble telescope couldn't help
