On the back of the glitch in the matrix thread I decided to ask the angels for help finding my lost engagement ring. It's been missing for around 2 years and I'd pretty much given up hope (assumed vacuumed up and thrown away).

2 nights ago (whilst reading similar stories on the thread) I asked for it to be returned. This morning DH came running in to wake me up saying he'd been cleaning the sofa and found my ring!

My rational brain is telling me it's coincidence but the other part is saying wow, they actually did it.

Having told DH the back story he now thinks I'm crackers but oh well

Crikey, you haven’t cleaned your sofa properly in 2 years, what else did he find?

Now what angels were these? And do they find lost sanity?

@BornIn78 It has been cleaned and I've lifted up the cushions when the remote has fallen down etc. Didn't find it 🤷‍♀️

Those 'angels' can be little devils at times and almost certainly hid it in the sofa two years ago...

... and anyway why was your DH rooting about the sofa early in the morning whilst you were still asleep? What was HE looking for?

He's an early bird, I'm not. So he got up and got on with some cleaning.

No conforming to stereotypical gender roles in this house!

Glad you found your ring.
We took our 15 year old sofa apart to get it out of the house and I had visions of all the treasures we'd find... we found crumbs, pen lids, general detritus and the most massive (and presumably unsuccessful) spider web I have ever seen. 🕷

I lost a necklace about 5 years ago, I cannot find it anywhere & it has so much sentimental value, I have blitzed my house looking for it! 😞

Very glad you found it. DH's wedding ring vanished for nearly 2 years, to the point he was convinced he'd managed to bury it while gardening.

Then I got some piece of cookery equipment I very seldom used out of cupboard, and underneath it was the ring - he must have left it on the worktop and the cleaner must have assumed it was a part of some kitchen machinery (it's a fairly chunky looking ring) and put it among the components!
