Anyone have a failed carpel tunnel surgery.

I had carpel tunnel for years. Had the injections which worked for a long time. Finally had the operation about 8 years ago.

Last few months the symptoms have come back. So went to the doctors.
He gave me another steroid injection.
This was painful and awful which it wasn’t before. But it seemed to work. Fast forward two months and it has stopped working and my hand is now worse than before I had the injection.

I asked the doctor what can be done. And he said not much as he wasn’t sure they would operate on me again. And I can imagine the waiting list for even seeing anyone is so long.

Just wondered if anyone else had this. What course of action did u do. And how do u help it.

When I had mine done 20 years ago, my surgeon said that farmers were known for getting it done again. Probably because they had little opportunity to change their work practices.

I left my (manual labour) industry immediately for other reasons so haven’t had any deterioration. I did only get about 80% of function back at the time.

Mine was fine due to my job. But I left that and now don’t type or use my hands a job if u see what I mean. But still came back.
