Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, not in silence though - the washing basket's overflowing this week so the machine's on already 🙄 I was hoping for a longer lie in.

We're having a fairly lazy day I think. I want to walk down to the little asda for a few bits so expect dd1 will come with me and dd2 will stay at home with their dad. It looks like it might rain though so we might not get there 🤷‍♀️

Both girls have homework so we'll make sure that's done & I want to prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday evening.

Dd1 wants to cook something long winded so we might prep part of that too, to freeze for now.

No idea what's for tea yet, maybe diy pizzas to go with the homemade coleslaw my friend's dad gave me yesterday 😋

Dd1 has been to cheerleading , dd2 has been to tap . They got vouchers for afternoon tea for Christmas so off to have that soon . Then need to go to the shop later to buy some birthday presents / cards .

Hiding inside away from Storm Malik today. Some friends have lost power so I'm making sure phones are charged up and putting boiling water into flasks just in case ours goes too.

I'm meant to be going out tonight so hopefully it dies down by then like it's meant to.

Lovely and sunny here AND breezy, two loads on the line that almost dry. DD and I are off to the local village Panto at 2.30pm and then will find somewhere for an early tea. DH is on a late/sleep/early this weekend so won’t see him until 4pm tomorrow. DMIL (lives with us) has gone on a coach trip with the active retirement club she’s in.

Been a dog walk, to the pharmacy and done some washing. Waited in for a tradesman who never showed up and when we called him he said he forgot so we looked up another one and called him instead.

DH is working out now, I’m drinking tea and this afternoon we are going out to a cocktail bar for a friend’s birthday. I’m not drinking at the moment so it will be a challenge! Then home for sausage casserole and Netflix.

DS2 has gone to work, not sure if DS 1 is in from last night yet! DD is in bed but going to work soon. DH and I are going to the football and then stopping at the pub on the way home for tea and a few pints 😊 Me DD and DS 2 have had Covid so it feels great to be able to go out and about

I'm going out for some day drinking and a catch up with a good friend. Can't wait

I've just collected DS1 from Tennis. Now going to make some bacon rolls and have a relaxed afternoon. Will have homemade curry for dinner and then maybe watch a film with Dh and kids.

Been for a run to sweat out the gin from last night's night out whilst DH took DD to swimming lesson. Heading for a walk and kite flying now, we have a large cardboard house to construct and colour in later, planning on a fire tonight. Tomorrow I'm meeting a very close friend who I haven't seen for months for a child friend walk and catch up.

I'm sitting in my car in a forest blocking a pathway in case any walkers appear because there's a rally stage set up for a practise/test run ahead of a rally next week so there are rally cars going past at top speed, I'm bored so luckily brought my crochet with me, been here since early but should be finished soon. I'm only here because dh loves when I show an interest in his hobby, he's been rallying almost 40 years and loves it but I just can't get excited about the way some partners do. Should be going home in about a hour and then it's lighting the fire and relaxing for the evening.

It's wild here in Yorkshire. The wind is incredible! I saw 3 trees broken over on my walk with the dogs this morning. They didn't enjoy it anymore than I did, far too windy! Fences down in my back garden but no point trying to sort them while it's this bad.

Did my food shop this afternoon, back home now with X-Files on the telly and a big mug of coffee while the winds whips round the eaves.

DC upstairs, all quiet which is always concerning! DD11 has a friend over to sleep for the weekend so I'm doing a couple of large homemade pizzas tonight that they can help with, choose their own toppings. I'm doing a big batch of spicy wedges to go with. use up the plethora of spuds I seem to have accumulated in my veggie rack! And I bought a Vienetta because it always goes down well.

I'll pop a wash on in a bit, get that out of the way, then when everyone's settled in for the night I've promised myself a long soak and a glass of wine

I got up at 8.30 to an empty house - finally worked out that ds2 had gone with Dh to do the food shop (ds1 still asleep) so I had a lovely peaceful cup of tea listening to the birds in the garden.

Ds2 and I ventured out in the wind for a run, then back for a big breakfast.
Dh and I have been into town for a few bits, I'm heading over to my mum's in a while, ds2 is coming with me, Dh is going to the rugby club to watch the match then I'll pick ds1 up from work.

He's in tonight I think (hard to keep up with a 16yo's social life) so we'll all have dinner together then watch a film, probably.

We're having a lovely day.
Lazy start with coffee and croissants in bed then washing on and hung on the line as it's blowy here but lovely and sunny.
Dd3 is doing her homework with help from dd2 (gcse physics and maths 😬)and then at her friends tonight for a party .
Dh and I have sorted some of our garage junk and it looks good already after 2 charity shop runs and some rubbish dumped.
We are off out to dinner in town tonight and I'm planning a pampered afternoon for myself before we leave for our lovely meal and some time together.
Dd2 is thrilled she has the house to herself tonight too .

Had a long lie til 9.30 and nice morning sesh with dh 😊

Then we went out and tidied up the yard and building site after the winds. It was far too cold and hailing so I came back inside for tea and a hot cross bun

Kids came home around lunchtime after staying with granny - now they are playing Minecraft while I'm chilling.

I made puff pastry slices with beans and sausages for their lunch. Wondering about doing some baking but I can't really be bothered.

One dog is on the sofa the other is out chewing something in his kennel. He doesn't seem to notice it's windy and wild!

Going to watch football later and have pizza for dinner so I don't have to cook.
